MANNALAPN CHINESE RESTAURANT?

The chinese restaurant meat & poultry is not used even by any Lakewood based caterers or restaurants-so for people that have any standard in kashrus, BEWARE!

Besides all of the other serious issues. When serious Mashgichim leave, it's time to pack-up but as the "OK" says "It's lean times" we need the $$$$.

I like that "bassar bassar" joke. Did you make the font yourself?

There was a mayseh with an adam gadol that had just come from der heim. Does anyone know who it was? The name escapes me. He saw the "Bassar kasher" sign in flashing neon and asked, Vos meint? amol kosher, amol nit?"

THEY USE RUBASHKIN PRODUCTS.
THE ACTUAL LABEL ON THE PRODUCT IS IRRELEVANT-RUBASHKIN WILL PUT ON ANY LABEL FOR A CUSTOMER THAT HE REQUESTS.

Rav Yudel,

Is there a problem with dried strawberries (similar to raisins)?

Yudel Shain said...

dried strawberries-if dried 12 months shouldn't be a problem.

What about juice / drinks that have some concentrated strawberry juice in them?

Strbry concntrt doesn't have any parts & shouldn't be a problem.

R' Yudel, what is the current status of Manalapan Chinese? I thought they have a new owner...and doesn't the fellow from Park Ave still do hashgacha temidi?

Thank you being there for us!

The Chinese Manalapn is not for anyone that tries to maintain any standard of kashrus, even a basic low kashrus.
I guess it's not for you.

Is the owner Frum? Does he know that there are problems with Rubashkin products? Have you spoken to him to tell him that he would get more business if he drops Rubashkin?

If the owner is not frum, does he think tha this is all another Jew fighting Jew for business?

The owner is Goy, a chinese family. Rabbi Shain used to be the Hashgacha way back when until Rabbi Shain caught them and dropped them like a hot potato.

No reason to buy there. Highland Park is only about 20 minutes away. They do not use Rubashkin and use Bodek brocolli. What does Manalapan use?

Whatever they want they use, all meat & poultry, Unchecked vegetables, any product-Yom-Tov-in-der- vochen.

The OU was once leaning towards not giving hashgocho to any restaurant with Chinese ownership after some scandals, one in particular with a hidden freezer full of chazir. They didn't act because they didn't want to lose the revenue $$$$.

The OU still does not give a Hashgocha to any chinese restaurants.

Kashrus Insider said...

That is what I was told by someone much more senior than me.

So then what is the ownership of these OU restaurants?

Eden Wok
Haikara Grill

And here is an entire website devoted to production in China, albeit not restaurants. At least in NY the propreitors are afraid of American authorities. Who are they afraid of over there?

eden wok is owned by frum people

Eden Wok has frum chefs?

you have to understand the chinese mindset first of all they are oved avodah zara they come from a communist country they are very clever sly and industrious with a five thousand year history and culture they are very adapt at dealing with black markets illegal knock off etc etc they will go to tremendous lenth like sneaking food through a chimany at 3 am on 30 below zero weather or teadiously manufacture forge counterfeit and change labels to save a few dollars they will quitly watch a mashgiach observe his scheduale when he davens learns goes to the bathroom or takes a ciggerate break and in those five minutes sneak ina case of treif chicken or meat or change a label the ou and other kashrus agencies became aware of this chinese issue which is why many kashrus agencies will not certify chinese restaurants owned by chinese goyim
