OH NUTS, Klein's natural, Hershels, Gold Nut, Yumtees- dried fruits, may contain infested fruits

Now that Grapes also have insects, you can't dry & make raisins at all.
It's a well known fact that raspberries, blackberries, dried figs, dried dates, raisins are infested, yet "Oh nuts" has all of them. We don't think that a kosher consumer may even purchase any item in such an establishment.

Klein's Naturals, Gold Nut, Yumtees, Hershels, Rockland Kosher OK, Hisachdus has many of those infested items as well, a kosher consumer should patronize the ones that don't sell infested products.

What do you expect from OK that certifies Oh Nuts!? The OK has always been at the forefront of inventing shortcuts in kashrus that they pretend is the same level as others.

Shufrah cocoa and their chiddush about asparagus come to mind.

They are also much more forgiving of clients committing violations if the clients happen to be fellow Lubavitchers.

Something strange is going on with the 5 Towns places that are also under the hashgocho of R' Yankel Reisman. Some are only using Bodek broccoli and say RYK doesn't allow fresh and some are using fresh broccoli with the claim that RYK approves.

I didn't call him because he is a tough guy who once chewed up my friend who called with a different question.

One place is completely contradicting themselves. They say yes we use fresh broccoli with RYK's approval. When you insist that many rabbonim do not allow fresh whatsoever, they change the story to "well, it comes in frozen", in the foolish hope that you don't mind thawed bugs.

Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg is the modern orthodox rabbi who is Vice President of the Queens Vaad.

The Queens Vaad's yeshivishe maniac (who diverts countless hours of learning hocking a chynik on the internet and tracking down his critics) goes ballistic when someone says over mayselach from Bais Brisk because he says the focus should instead be on real learning.

But it's ok when his bosses Rosenberg & Joel Schonfeld encourage kids to make their primary focus on Harry Potter books, goyishe music and prusta videos.

These are the people who say just trust us with kashrus while they make a churban. Proper chinuch to the Queens Vaad bosses is mocked as what some old fashioned nerds do "in some circles".

The Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills will host a seudah shelishis with Congregation Etz Chaim of Kew Gardens Hills on Shabbos Parashas Vayera, November 12, in the Simcha Room at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills to mark the publication of Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg’s new book Morality for Muggles: Ethics in the Bible and the World of Harry Potter, published by Ktav Publishing House.
Rabbi Rosenberg is the first guest speaker in a new monthly series of seudah shelishis guest speakers at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills under the rabbinic leadership of Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld

Moshe Rosenberg
Special To The Jewish Week

As an elementary school Judaic studies teacher, I have my own reason to mourn the end of this phase of the Potter phenomenon. When the Harry Potter books are just another title on the school’s library shelf, I will have lost a common language that I have shared with my students for over a decade, a language that helped me convey Jewish values more vividly and more effectively than many other educational tools.

In some circles there is a reluctance to resort to material outside of tradition even to reinforce traditional ideas.

And it doesn’t have to stop at books. Popular culture today encompasses music, videos, and social media, all of which are waiting for the bold and creative educators who will not see them as dangers to be avoided, but opportunities to be embraced

Elly Kleinman, the hero of the Agudah, Artscroll and the new CEO at BMG, is known in the business world as Martin Kleinman.

"In October 2005, ACSS, Americare, Martin Kleinman, and their employee Diane Ahearn entered into a $1.2 million settlement agreement resolving allegations against them for their role in subjecting 17 mentally-disabled residents of the Leben Home for Adults to unnecessary prostate surgeries.

Leben Home had contracted with ACSS and Americare to perform home health and nursing care services at the facility. Diane Ahearn, an ACSS employee and "medical director" at Leben Home, took responsibility for
scheduling home health aides, acting as a liaison between LebenHome and home health aides, and acting as a liaison between nurses and doctors providing care to residents. Ahearn scheduled appointments for residents with the doctor performing the unnecessary surgeries, and signed transfer forms for residents sent "to other facilities, including Parkway Hospital, where the unnecessary surgeries were performed."

As reported in The New York Times:

"Inquiry Finds Mentally Ill Patients Endured 'Assembly Line' Surgery

By CLIFFORD J. LEVY and SARAH KERSHAW

Published: March 18, 2001

"Leben Home, a for-profit facility with about 360 mentally ill residents, remains open, despite a decades-old history of unsanitary conditions, state sanctions and even macabre incidents. In 1993, for example, a decomposed body was found to have been wedged behind a basement freezer for a year."

Can you present any mareh mekomos to back up Harry Potter? I don't think you would dare give a shiur on that in the beis medrash on Metropolitan Ave.

The people who know about the kashrus scandals you cover up are smeared as "liars" and "apikorsim". What are you going to do when bnei Torah vehemently disagree with your bosses's Haskalah-style introduction of Harry Potter into chinuch? How are you going to convince the oylam that they too are "apikorsim"?

The hypocrisy in Skver is incredible. The Rebbe's hoiz bucher who is on trial for burning down the house and trying to murder a critic of the Rebbe was arrested again while out on bail. His lawyer is the modern orthodox menuvol Kenneth Gribetz who was disbarred for 10 years after a scandal. Skver used to ba'red Gribetz all the time that he is a lowlife who took cases against Skver. Now they hire him to defend the Rebbe's shick yingle rotzchim.

Chaim Berlin = My Way or the Highway said...

Chaim Berlin, who are mesarvim by R' Moshe Feinstein for mistreating and stealing from Rav Carlebach, tried to cover up how they told one of R' Aron Schechter's weirdo BT chassidim that he should put his son in a goyish prison camp to be beaten if he doesn't work on Shabbos and eat treif food. When emissaries of the gedolim flew to Jamaica, Chaim Berlin actually had the gall to have Jamaican police detain the rabbonim on the rescue mission. They only backed down because YU's Dr. Pelcovitz threatened to expose them in the newspapers and because R' Zelig Epstein ztl screamed at them.

Chaim Berlin keeps trying to rehabilitate the weirdo in question, Michael Hersh, although they could not stop him from being fired as CEO of Flatbush Hatzolah. They did force his son upon returning to NY, to stay in the home of convicted sex offender and fraudster Shlomo Zakheim.

Chaim Berlin also funded a frivolous lawsuit launched by Hersh against 1000s of individuals for being mishtatef in the rescue mission AND anonymous bloggers. You see, the lawsuit demanded to know the identity of every blog owner and commenter, because the real purpose of the lawsuit was not Hersh taking revenge. It is because Chaim Berlin controls both the Agudah and Torah Umesorah and wants to know who is criticizing. R' Aron Schechter has Fruchthandler in charge at Torah Umesorah and the Novominsker, a Chaim Berliner, pulling the strings at the Agudah. And they named virtually every frum anti-establishment blog in the suit so they can hunt down & shut up whoever is spilling the beans or criticizing. A Federal judge recently threw the case out and ordered the weirdo to pay legal costs.

Chaim Berlin is so desperate to help out the weirdo that they must have pushed Hamodia to promote him in this article the other week.

You can bet that if the two top Queens Vaad rabbis were not the ones to start the Harry Potter push on yeshiva kids, that if it would have been a rabbi from JBAC whom Chaim Schwartz hates so much, we would never hear the end of it from him how JBAC rabbis are "madahniks" as he hypocritically calls them, and maskilim.

The JBAC so called, rabbis are "madahniks" and Maskilim in either
case.

JBAC's posek is Rav Moshe Sternbuch, so that makes Chaim Schwartz a koifer for being mevazeh one of the gedolei hador by calling him a maskil. And he's a "recognized" gadol on top of it. Oh sorry, in Queens Vaadese he is worthless because he is Israeli like Rav Elyashev who the Queens Vaad bekumah zekufam don't have to listen to.

Members of the Harry Potter club at SAR Academy, a yeshiva elementary school in Riverdale, are writing what they think should be the sequel to ''Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,'' the fourth volume of the series, published last July. The club members, all sixth graders, meet weekly at lunchtime to read aloud chapters they wrote at home, critique one another's work and propose new ideas.

''Everybody has really great plots,'' said Chana Wolpoe, adding that she had written so many chapters she had lost count. In one of her versions, American students join Hogwarts because sorcery schools in the United States provide an inferior education.

Talia Lavin, who has read each of the Potter books about 50 times, has also contributed chapters. Her efforts include a romance between Harry's godfather and a new magic teacher at the school.

The club was founded last September by Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg, a Talmud teacher. "I thought this could be a constructive impetus to get them to use their imaginations and write," said the rabbi, who has come up with five chapters himself. "I think one of my unspoken reasons for making the club is because I felt like writing it myself."

As Orthodox writers, some students were tempted to tie Judaism into the plot. But Talia felt there would be too many conflicts between wizardry and Jewish law. "How would they get kosher food all the way to Hogwarts?" she asked. The Sabbath poses other questions. "Can you carry your wand and ride a broomstick on the Sabbath?" Talia asked.

Sounds almost exactly like the reason why Maran Rav Schach ztl came out against Shteinzaltz - for making dumb comparisons to the Neviyim.

http://articles.nydailynews.com/2011-09-08/local/30147114_1_quidditch-games-harry-potter-club-boy-wizard

When the Hogwarts Express rolled to the end of its enchanting line, Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg was perhaps one of the more unlikely fans who mourned the conclusion of the series about the boy wizard.

Rosenberg became hooked on the Harry Potter books about a decade ago, when the 6th-grade students at his yeshiva were reading the first book.

He has since been dubbed "The Harry Potter rabbi" by congregants at his Kew Gardens Hills synagogue, Congregation Etz Chaim & the Bronx yeshiva where he teaches, the SAR Academy in Riverdale.

The Potterphile has utilized the series in his classroom & synagogue to teach Jewish values. And his book "Morality for Muggles: Ethics in the Bible & the World of Harry Potter" was published last month.

Author J.K. Rowling's books are valuable, Rosenberg said, because they deal with all of life's most essential questions.

He compares the relationship between Harry, Hermione & Ron to the biblical trio of Moses, Miriam & Aaron.

Rosenberg regularly brought up the connections between Judaism & the Potter series in classroom discussions. He also created a Harry Potter Club, which encouraged his students to write their own sequels to the Potter series between Rowling's releases of the volumes. In addition, he organized Quidditch games in the gym & took the students to see the Potter movies when they premiered in theaters.

In earlier eras, rabbis offered parables about horses & wagon drivers that resonated with the people of that time, Rosenberg said. The Potter books gave him a common language with his students, who are too young to appreciate the pop-culture references he was most familiar with - from Star Trek.

"It's a shame the Potter books have come to an end," he lamented. "You can do the same sort of thing with other literature, but Harry Potter has so much that's positive it's hard to find something quite as rich. We'll have to keep our eyes open."

All you meshugoyim and apikorsim out there who criticize the Queens Vaad should listen to Rabbeinu Chaim Schwartz to stop wasting your time with R' Chaim's & Brisker Rov's and get into some REAL learning. We at the Queens Vaad knew Rav Elyashev didn't have a clue that he locks himself in a room for 14 hours straight to learn Shas. We know better what's REALLY tachlissdik:

(Queens Vaad Vice-President) Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg, a **Talmud** teacher, became hooked on the Harry Potter books about a decade ago ... "I thought this could be a constructive impetus to get them to use their imaginations and write," said the rabbi, who has come up with five chapters himself. "I think one of my unspoken reasons for making the club is because I felt like writing it myself." ... he organized Quidditch games in the gym & took the students to see the Potter movies when they premiered in theaters.
