Who is (Hechsher) Magen Zedek? "they're already looking for donations"?

Magen Zedek wrote a glowing report on Empire Poultry describing how well they treat all of the workers. Is it perhaps because they are unionized? They missed the boat!
In fact the kosher staff including Shoichtim, Bodkim, Mashgichim are intimidated, harassed, etc by some of their superiors. Management is aware & they are enjoying the Rokeach style "slave driver". Is it perhaps because they are not permitted to  be unionized, therefore they do not  work directly for Empire.

Magen zedek picked up on none of this, so they are giving you a false sense of comfort & they don't have professionals that can see on the faces of the staff the stress. We all realize that when the appointment was made followed by the inspection a "show" was put on, if they can't see a show-They don't belong in the kosher industry. Can't rely on them- for kashrus they are a detriment.

Magen Zedek can serve a very important function by banning all far Eastern products, as the employees are treated as slaves. They will also increase the job employment in the USA.

Magen Zedek is the Conservative movement's trick to pretend they care about kashrus. It was started by one misguided loser "rabbi" in Minnesota who changed his last name to something goyish sounding (Allen). The reason why the Conservative movement is backing him is because the leader of the whole movement now is a very unladylike lady Julie Schonfeld from Westchester who has a big sinah of frumma Yidden and wants to be combative. She was egged on by Shalom Lewis in Atlanta, a kofer ba'ikur Conservative rabbi whose father was a YU musmach who went off the derech. Shalom Lewis has allegedly said in public that he does not believe in G-d. The story they tell all the Conservative tinokos shenishbu is that the Orthodox are insulting them by not allowing Conservative standards like sturgeon caviar and that the Orthodox do not care about human rights of workers so all that forces them to get involved in kashrus.

Who is this Rabbi Rokeach and where is he from?

Anonymous said...

Sounds like you are a 'NON YU MUSMACH" and yet you are the way out too. Why would you or anyone else be so knowledgeable or want to know the detailed 'yichus' AND history of these (by your own addmission) 'tinokes shenishboo' ?

Anonymous said...

The reason why haymishe people know about these Conservative chayos is because Shalom Lewis has been fighting with the rabbonim in the Southern states and because his father had a shul years ago in a frum neighborhood in the NYC area before he went off the derech. When Lewis got backed by Julie Schonfeld, some of the major hashgochos wanted to know if she was planning on starting Conservative hashgochos to compete. They had a rabbi call her to feel her out and she said yes. There have been Conservative hashgochos popping up all over the country since two years ago.

And you sound like the kind of guy who considers the Yated to be the Bible. You would then know that the Yated has raved against Morris Allen for stabbing Sholom Rubashkin in the back or something like that.

I came across the website of what I thought was a shul with a specific page outlining their in house kashrus guidelines. They had a list of acceptable hashgochos to bring in which are all orthodox. As I continued reading I thought maybe they are Conservative. I finally figured out they are Jews for J.

It is still interesting however if what they write is accurate. Among the claims:

Most American cheeses including Kraft brand are made with chazir mamash.

Many commercially available Oriental sauces are made with pork derived gelatin.

Cetyl esters are sometimes made from Sperm whale oil.

I investigated the 3rd claim on the internet and found it to be true. Related ingredients that are also sometimes whale derived include Ester wax, Cetyl alcohol, Spermaceti, Cetyl palmitate, Palmitic acid (which is not always derived from palm trees), Hexadecanoic acid, Trigyceride, Triacylglycerol & Triacylglyceride.

The same thing goes for Retinyl palmitate, or vitamin A palmitate added to low fat milk. There is only a slight chance it is whale derived. It is more likely derived from livers of pigs, cows, poultry or cod fish.

Hoffberg is a halbah tzorah because at least you can find out he is Conservative. There is someone who worked with him who is officially orthodox but is more than meets the eye.

Rabbi Dr. Samuel Mordechaj Abramson used to be one of the heads of the "Maharal" hashgocho in Prague and it seems it was not reliable, at least when he was in charge.

He was also the co-rabbi for a while during the year at Prague's Jubilee Synagogue together with the "Masorti" Conservative rabbi in Ronald Hoffberg. The davening is not orthodox there.

Er ruft zich der Carlsbader Rov and gives or gave hashgocho in that resort town. He was the first rov in Carlsbad since WWII but it's a weird story. The oylam there is Reform and wanted a Reform rabbi but settled on a modern orthodox Rabbi Dr..

He might be living in Israel now completely or maybe still coming to Carlsbad for the summers.

These freya rabbis are a bunch of phonies. I'm surprised that more of their followers don't catch on what two faced idiots they are. Tablet Magazine just profiled Ira Schiffer, the Hillel rabbi at the campus of Middlebury College in Vermont. He started buying treif meat to eat at home with the excuse that Rubashkin turned him off from buying kosher. The real reason is probably because he was tired of shlepping the 100 mile round trip to the city of Burlington which is the closest place to him that kosher meat & chicken is available.

R' Yechiel Michel Feinshtein ztl is medayek from the Haftorah of Vayigash that the Novi Yechezkel when he mentions two nations, he does not mean Yehudah & Shomron. He means ovdei Hashem & ovdei avoda zara. He is mechadesh that since mayseh avos siman lebanim extends to the shvatim until they were kicked out into golus, so we r"l have today porkei ol who are like being mechanef goyim and hate bnei Torah.

Just when you thought kashrus couldn't get anymore modenna.

There is a Rabbi Chaim Szmidt who gives a shiur at the yeshiva in Monsey headed by Yaakov Spivak. Spivak is giving hashgocho to all kinds of places cooking on Shabbos. Spivak's yeshiva tells everyone that Spivak learned in YU and "yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel". I never knew that Bar Ilan University is a "yeshiva".

Szmidt is running a blog called The Kosher Scene.

http://kcheese.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/zabars6.jpg?w=300&h=224

Don't be fooled by his big beard and black hat.

http://www.meetup.com/Israeli-Wine-Lovers/members/11340314/

Click on the left where it says "read more about us" and you will see that Szmidt is hosting non-kosher wine tastings since he "respects everyone".

He is hanging out with Gil Marks from Kosher Gourmet, a YU rabbi who teaches at Drisha, the "orthodox" place that makes women rabbis.

He is also hanging out with a non-Jewish woman from Alabama who is married a Conservative Jew in NJ. She runs some kind of business centering around kosher cheeses. The name of her business is very provocative and so is the way she usually dresses.

Here is Szmidt with that lady and Pomegranate supermarket manager Gabe Boxer.

Isn't Gabe Boxer from the 5 Towns Conservative caterer under Chof K (Gissinger-Abecasis)? How can he manage a store in Brooklyn and do the catering when the caterer goes all the way to places in mid-Connecticut?

What's happening at JEP? First the Agudah was scared of the lawsuits & criminal investigations the OU got for the Lanner molesting scandal at NCSY, so they spun off JEP as a separate corporation and then stopped funding them completely. Now at the upcoming dinner for JEP Long Island they are presenting the Rabbinical "Visionary" Award to both Rav Frankel of Agudah 5 Towns & the OU's Rabbi Dr. Robert Block.

Agudah 5 Towns catering is exclusively Rubashkin.

OU's Robert Block sits on panels with Reform & Conservative rabbis.

That's some "vision"!

That lady that comes to Pomegranate definitely is a Presbyterian shiksa married to a Yid. Don't be fooled by her that she dresses tznius only when she comes there or with her "kosher" cheese tasting events company. She uses another company name when she does treif cheese tasting events.

What's wrong with Gabe Boxer?

Here is Gabe cozying up to the Polish shiksa actress Leelee Sobieski. According to this Hollywood magazine she came to Pomegranate when she was in Brooklyn anyway to nebich pick up a kesubah because she married the Jewish fashion designer Adam Kimmel. Which adam gadol was it that said that shortcuts in bishul are causing intermarriage?

If this blog is correct, it would appear odd that the OU's Robert Block J.D. is accepting an award alongside an Agudah rabbi. A member of Block's congregation alleges that Block opined in a Shabbas sermon a month ago that the Torah prohibits any organization with the name Agudah as Robert Block hates any organization to the Right of the OU.

Dried Eggplant: These are imported from Turkey, where they are collected from different villages. The importer informed us that the local women scoop them out, hang them to dry, and then tie them in string. In the event that there is a rush to get them dried out, flour is put inside to draw out the moisture! Understandably, we can not recommend these for Passover.

I've heard that there was a lot of friction at the OU between Robert Block and the more yeshivish elements. JEP is honoring Robert Block because he brings a lot of multi-millionaires with their checkbooks. Why not turn the other way if it's worth it $$ ??

It was R' Shlomo Zalman that warned about the intermarriage.

Guess what? Gabe Boxer's catering company is named for the original extended family of Kotimsky & Tuchman that started catering kosher food over a hundred years ago. Today that family is mostly intermarried. Terrible.

Why did you remove those items & comments re: Rabbiner Chaim Szmidt? If you would be more responsible & do proper research you would see that he's a detriment to kashrus, which is your cup of tea. Will be back with details.

Do some kashrus research Rabbi Chaim Szmidt, he goes by his (CS).
Check out "kosherscene" (CS). His picture would be able to sell any heimish yeshivish fellow that the kashrus standards are impecable. Check it out.

Rabbi (CS): It was publicized by this site that all cholov stam / akum is realy "treif" due to the veternerian procedures.

Many of the cheeses that Rabbi "CS" publicizes are with unreliable hashgochas, cholov treif, etc.
I don't even want to get into the wines.

Rabbi "CS" recipes contain items that should not be used because of infestation, e.g. fresh parsley, basil, rosemary, raspberries, cilantro, etc.

Excuse me this is big michsoilim to kashrus by one posing as the yeshivish rabbi expert in foods.

There is another "C.S." who heads a Vaad Harabbonim's kashrus who also poses looking very yeshivish while duping you with standards not becoming a frumma Yid. But this C.S. won't get his own blog. He is just here ALL THE TIME to attack and impersonate his critics with silly comments.
