A notice of clarification for public vigilance
The following pertains to the conference held on 24 Cheshvan about establishing a kevi’us; an established protocol for the complex process of writing and issuing Gittin in the city of Lakewood. Since human nature is such that credulous people tend to believe the rumors spread by those seeking to stir controversy, we have set out to state the facts as they are, to ensure that no one falls prey to rumormongers and that our intentions will always remain transparent and above reproach.
The idea of conducting this conference originated with HaGaon HaRav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv shlita, during a videotaped meeting that was held in his home at the end of the month of Sivan in 5769. He was astonished to hear that Gittin are being written in Lakewood without any kevi’us established by those Gedolim in America who are expert in these halachos. It was in accordance with his advice, encouragement, and with his specific guidance, that we gathered together to discuss this issue.
Those invited to discuss this issue at the conference were limited specifically to Roshei Batei Din and Dayanim who have extensive and multiyear experience in this challenging area of Halacha, and have an established reputation as Mesadrei Gittin for many years. This does not in any way preclude those who were not in attendance from stating their opinion on the matter discussed. Naturally, it is inevitable that this arena of Halacha will invite disagreements of opinion, both in interpretation and in application, and all who wish to state their opinions, are welcome to put pen to paper and thus express their opinions and reasons. This amicable manner of dispute was honorably practiced throughout the generations. When the occasion arose to make a kevi’us for the writing of Gittin in a town, all those qualified to do so came out with their teshuvos on the matter, each one advancing his own approach, until they finally reached a consensus. This process is evident in the teshuvos of the Noda BiYehudah, the Chasam Sofer, and others.
The purpose of the conference was not to establish a kevi’us for the writing of Gittin, but to discuss how to go about establishing the kevi’us. It goes without saying that the actual kevi’us will be determined with the participation of all the Gedolim and Rabbanim of the city.
At the conference, the first question discussed was whether this project raises any concern about being moitzi la’az — casting aspersions — on Gittin previously written in Lakewood. After all those present agreed unanimously that there is no concern of hotzo’as la’az, as stated in Teshuvos Maharil (104) and other sources, and that the aim of the conference is not to cast doubt on the Gittin that have already been written — only then did we proceed to discuss the actual question of how to go about establishing a kevi’us.
At the termination of the conference, a ruling was issued by HaGaon Harav Yechezkel Roth, the Gaavad of Karlsburg, joined by HaGaon HaRav Sariel Rosenberg, Av Beis Din under HaGaon HaRav Nissim Karelitz in Bnei Brak, and all the esteemed Rabbanim shlita, stating that no Gittin should be written in Lakewood for the time being until this matter is properly resolved.
In conclusion, this complex subject is not a recently uncovered problem; rather it is an old issue, long recognized by messadrei gittin both in Lakewood and outside the city. We are merely disciples at the feet of our sagely masters, seeking instruction on how to proceed. Any decisions regarding Gittin must, and will, remain in the hands of the Gedolei Haposkim to whom all of Klal Yisrael look for guidance in all matters pertaining to Halacha.
Signed Chavrei Habadatz

Will the Queens Vaad put pen to paper that Maran Rav Elyashev shlita, in their "enlightened opinion" has no business inserting himself into American inyanim?
Rav Sholom Yosef Eliyashev, Shlita stated re: the Treif (operated) cows that the behaimos in Eretz yisroel are the same as in America & they are treif. Rav Belsky says the americana behaimos are kusher, choizer lihetaroi.
I hope the gedolim don't start a discussion about mohelim who were kovaya to use the Gompco clamp!

You already said it for them. That makes it a fact. Nothing else is necessary.
According to rav berman since the yishuv of lakewood was concentrated around the lakes, only those lakes need be mentioned in the get
Reb shmuel meir katz holds that it makes no difference and that all rivers need to written, that's why he does gittin only in deal nj as he's rebbe in gittin told him to do
Rabbi yannai holds like rav berman
Intrestingly this issue is mentioned in mishnas rav aahren bederech agav and he's not machria either way
Reb yerucham holds that only rivers that contain kosher edible fish need to be mentioned
At the end of the day its an old machlokes and every beis din should do it the way they want

Leave it to OK Kosher to participate in a reality TV circus.
Does anyone know what rav moshe feinstien told rav gantsweig with regard to writing gittin in lakewood
And is that the reason that talmidei rav moshe only do gittin in deal nj
I don't quite get the machlokes.
Facts are there are only two Batei din in Lakewood, Maysharim headed by Rav Kahan and Badatz headed by Rav Knopler. Maysharim only does Choshen Mishpat and Badatz do both Choshen Mishpat and Even Ha'ezer.
So the only Bais Din that does Gittin inLakewood is the Badatz.
So what claim do they have that the Badatz asked the big rabbonim how to do things?
Are they implying that the Lakewood rabbonim should have been asked???
Who exactly???
Leiberman??
Felder??
Forshaimer??
who??????
They rightfully should be embarrassed that in twenty years BMG have produced NOTHING??
And because a Talmid Chochom [whos not one of theirs] comes from EY, opens a BD, starts being messader Gittin, they feel inadequate that they can't produce a real talmid chochom of stature???
Let them feel it. Let it hurt them.
Rav Knopler hurt them in the most painful way possible. He showed them that if you stay in EY and learn like a mentch, you can become a real talmid chochom, whereas if you learn in BMG you remain an am ha'aretz.

It wasn't the Rabbi Steinmetz everyone is familiar with. It's some Lubavitcher kid who shvitzes away kashering silverware.
It's only those rabbonim looking over their shoulders to see what's in style, especially the "more enlightened" ones, who care what the ziknei hador in Eretz Yisroel have to say. Ver darft der gedolei EY when you have unzerra gedolim Rabbeinu CS & der Rashbehag @ YIKGH?
http://ww.w.shmais.com/chabad-news/latest/item/kiryat-ata-kashrus-controversy-continues
Almost a year has gone by since Rabbi Eliyahu Maimon and Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Diskin were both appointed as the Chief Rabbis of Kiryat Ata – and a dispute over who controls the norther town’s kashrus authorities continues.
On the eve of the elections, it seemed to be clear. However, as soon as the Rabbis were appointed, the problems arose.
Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Diskin’s appointment received the support of the Gaavad of Makava, who lives in Kiryat Ata, and considers him a Torah scholar and a reliable authority on kashrus issues. However, Rabbi Maimon also wanted to take control of kashrus in Kiryat Ata.
On Monday, however, the controversy hit new lows, when Rabbi Maimon arrived at a falafel store that was under the supervision of Rabbi Diskin and removed the kashrus certificate, even though the storeowner had paid for it and legitimately received it. Rabbi Maimon claimed that the certificate wasn’t valid and that the storeowner would have to apply to him to receive another one.
In addition, the owner of the Hapinah Restaurant, which used to have a Beis Yosef hechsher, approached Rabbi Diskin for a mehadrin hechsher, but this request was refused after Rabbi Diskin checked the restaurant’s levels of kashrus. So the storeowner applied to Rabbi Maimon – and received a mehadrin certificate straight away.
For this reason, the Gaavad of Makava has sent a letter to local residents instructing them not to eat from the Kiryat Ata Rabbinate hechsher or the Kiryat Ata mehadrin hechsher until the matter has been resolved.

You only publish posts that don't attack your agenda. When I post the truth about you or Knopfler the Ish emes lemaan hoemes you claim to be never post them.
I wonder why?
I guess you won't post this either. I guess we are in oilam hasheker any way, so anything that is emes belongs in olam haemes not in Blogsphere.
and you have the first class nut eli yanai that belongs ?? who hangs out with all the divorce ladies and claims he is giving them advice,
We don't discriminate to only offer advice to gerushos. All women are welcome, veiber, singles, almonos, transgender, etc.
Why do saltz and berman and co. not produce a letter from Rabbi Morgenstern who they claim gave them Rav Elyashivs psak?
Berman holds, Katz holds, etc. Does anyone care what the toira holds? this is not a svoro in a chabura during 2nd seder. there are clear guidelines in halacha how a gets location is to be written ,and a kabalah on how Kvius Hamokom is supposed to be done. I don't know (or care) who this knoffler is but where were the " Apitropeses of Lakewood" (rabonim, askonim, Roshei Yeshivos) 10 years ago making a hue & a cry when Rabbi Berman (& friends) decided on his 0WN what & who to ask how to be kovaia mokom l'gitten
"transgender, etc."
We are very politically correct in the 5 Towns
y'all missed the boat! a quick perusla of the halachos and you will see that this is a tempest in a teapot worthy only of pora vshona VLO SHEEMAYSH

that means weinberger could be yotze all the zmanim and shitas of ner chanukah he has so many veiber houses to go to!!
does anybody out there have the list of the lawrence community?
I don't understand the whole tummelt .The yeshiva hakidosha has a choshever yungerman by the name of Horav Shachne Schiner who has unsurpassed expertise on "Kveias Makom" in yeshiva ,and has been doing so for over 30 years. He should be the final poisek on this issue & bring this parsha to an end.
There is a company that prints a directory of haymisha 5 Towns phone numbers but only the publicly listed ones. Their # is 718-576-2527
If you want advice from people experienced with mass mailings, UOJ spent tens of thousands of dollars being mefarsem to the gantz Brooklyn on Kolko and his enablers Margulies and Belsky.
You can also ask YWN's Eckstein if the rumors are true that he was behind the mailings to Flatbush homes to expose the genaivos of Leib Pinter.
if you talk to reb s. kamnetzky about weinberger he says he is phily talmid.
A New York State Supreme Court judge recently ruled that Rabbi David Weinberger was wrong to disclose a congregant's confidences by revealing them to her estranged husband and testifying before the court that oversaw their divorce. On Nov. 18, Justice David Goldstein ruled that Weinberger owes Chani Lightman damages for causing her harm. In his decision, Goldstein called Weinberger's disclosures not only "improper" but "outrageous and most offensive."
Stop being a fool and you know it. The Supreme Court judge was overruled by a higher court. Weinberger did what the halacha required in that case at least as far as informing the husband that the wife was committing adultery. Had the Supreme Court judge not been overruled, the entire rabbonus would have been in big trouble.
Am I crazy or not
Dosent anyone realize that we have big problems in BMG
Does anyone remember a rav whom the yeshiva shteld by the name of ABADI
Who later was machshil hundreds of ppl with issurim chamurim!
Now we have a yemenite who follows kappachs rulings and is known to come from a family of anti kabbalists, running our gittin program!!!!
Philly has a history of sending perverts away so someone else has to deal with the problem, like the one that was eventually kicked off the hanhala of Ner Yisroel.
Rav Abadi always comes with a Rishon and solid logic that is very difficult to debunk. Watch your mouth.
It might be a vilda mehalech that he is always with the daas yochid but what exactly was he machshil people with?

What happened to the heiter meoh is was it the get that the frocked guy who climbed through the window on Teaberry & W. Kennedy gave.
Rabbi Weinberger went to CHOFETZ CHAIM

Nobody asked you to like or not like Rav Abadi. But you were just nichsal in something that would classify you as a ..... see the Rambam and other poiskim on this.
The Chofetz Chaim said pnei hakelev maint that the "leader" acts like a hundt because instead of doing the right thing, he is always turning around to see what is wanted by people who do not have the right hashkofoh.
i guess that why weinberger is always giving vaads and shmossen to the veiber,
Stop it already. The Court of Appeals judge did NOT say Weinberger was meyached with Chani Lightman although it is possible that he was meyached.
How about the hundreds of ppl who bought silkscreen sefer toras
How about nixing oneh beinonit
How about nixing dam besulim
and this is a rav whom BMG promoted
And we need to accept that BMG grads have the ability to be kovea gittin
Nobody was oiver issurim with those p'sokim.
Tell us the WHOLE story, all the details of the shaila. All the shaas hadechak etc.
Be careful. When you get to the next world, you'll HAVE TO explain.
You have the option of not using a silk screen sefer torah but you can't say that it is outright pasul l'chol hadayous.
