KASHRUS ALERT: Re: infestation in Lakewood

It has been found that certain stores are constantly selling expired, outdated, old products (the save the yeshiva leit money?), therefore they are very often infested, besides the prohibition of "stealing" from the gullible consumer. As far as standard of kashrus on the products sold "the consumer must make his own decission".

Kosher Consumers Beware: "caveat emptor" when purchasing at the NPGS Co-op stores.

As James Carville would say, this is waaaaar!

Shopping for Shabbos last night I spoke to a store owner who although he is not a fan of Rabbi Shain he gives him credit that he is not afraid of anyone.

The Liberals are upset that Israel is getting ready to deport thousands of illegal immigrant shvartzas, which is something the gedolim have demanded because these chevra drag down the matzav haruchni and shamelessly make passes at every frum girl they see. Is Breslov being mekarev them or did this guy steal that Na Nachman yarmulka?

It's nice that the OU made an exception for all the illegalities at Agri!

Until recently, Shaya had been delivering milk to people’s homes, mostly in Brooklyn. He reached Orthodox groups who had been already buying it on the black market for years from friends who traveled to farms. Shaya estimated that he supplied milk to 50-100 regular customers in Brooklyn.

Obtaining a kosher certification was complicated, but doable and he says milk he sells is “very safe from a very small farm upstate where they test the milk.” However, the problem became legally selling it in New York and he had to stop delivering it in August.

Rabbi Moshe Elefant, C.O.O. of the Kashrus Department at the Orthodox Union, which does not certify raw milk said: “It’s not a kosher issue but a legal issue, a health issue and a consumer issue…If it’s required by the government then it’s required by us.”.

Here is Rabbi Edery from Chabad of Japan who may be wearing a Meshichist yarmulka. One side identifies the Chabad house and the other looks like it ends in "Voed" as in Yechee.

He is certifying nori seaweed for sushi. Are any major hashgochos relying on him as their mashgiach?

He also visited a miso factory. Apparently, the secret ingredient in miso soup and other dishes is made out of dried fish.

One Lakewood Kollel rabbi (son of OU manager Rabbi Luban) was arrested for witness tampering, and a prominent Brooklyn Rabbi, Yisroel Belsky, was warned that he too would be arrested if he published his letter threatening the family

why cant a large town like lakewood have a real discount kosher supermarket (such as kolel store in b.p.) how come they wont allow binik to come in there is a monopoly in lakewood and there is no real pressure on the retailers to watch thier prices

Is it still like 20 years ago that every time someone in Lakewood starts a new business, even if just selling zokken for an hour a day out of your basement, that the competition goes running to dinei Torah?
