How can one know or be $ure?

How can one know or be sure that donations funneled through Tzedokah mail Organizations, etc, e.g. Stam Gemach Tzedokah Funds, are fully alocated & given to the intended? Are there audits, controls, checks & balances etc?

Before sending your check to one of these Tzedokah Organizations, verify the checks & balances, you might be surprised-especially if only a single individual is in full charge no matter how frum & erlich he seems to be.

Organizations that refuse to be transparent with public 990 filings should not get a cent from anyone

As sad as it is, relying on the IRS filings maybe the only way.

Most 990's can be found on line, if the organization filed it.

The law is now that organizations that don't file Form 990, can lose their tax exempt status.

Organizations with income of less than $50,000 only need to file an electronic post card, without having to spell out their finances.

Congregations (churches) are totally exempt from filing.
