Chief Rabbinate of Israel has ordered Kashrut supervisors to remove the popular American drink Dr. Pepper from stores, because the production of the drink is not being reviewed for compatibility with Jewish dietary laws, an Israeli blogger has found.
"The product has a kosher sticker on it marked Kosher KLBD (Badatz London), but it has not actually received their approval and therefore presenting it as kosher under their supervision is a serious forgery," a special warning issued by the Chief Rabbinate said.

What a geferliche chilul Hashem! Glenn Marcus from Kew Gardens mit zein black velvet yarmulka is one of the biggest menuvolim around. Did he somehow have membership in the Queens Vaad like the other Kew Gardens menuvol? He was released on $1 million bail to house arrest by his rich parents in the 5 Towns while he appealed for years all the way to the US Supreme Court. The whole time by his parents he continued to commit crimes not fit to print on a family friendly website which is why the link is only to his picture and not the story. The Courts have just ruled he must go back to jail.

During the panel discussion at Spertus, a Jewish educational center near Grant Park in Chicago, Rabbi Gedalia Dov Schwartz, who is featured in “Women Unchained,” mentioned one possible hope for chained wives: an annulment.
If a marriage began under false pretenses, Rabbi Schwartz said in a telephone interview, it can be considered never to have taken place. Such a case might involve a spouse’s failure to disclose homosexual tendencies, an abusive streak or a gambling addiction.
“If he had this addiction,” Rabbi Schwartz said this week, “and he had covered it up, and once they get married, he goes through his money, his wife’s money, he cleans out her accounts, he’s gambling it away, he goes to the casinos, and back and forth — that’s a deception.”
Rabbi Schwartz cautioned that for an annulment to occur, a spouse’s flaw must have been present but hidden before the marriage. In the end, the prenuptial agreement matters because a rabbi can do only so much.
“I can’t break the law,” Rabbi Schwartz said — although others sometimes do.
