Another Shul only allowed KCL certified caterers to use their kitchen, as all the other caterers are not kosher. BUT, any shul member can bring food from "anyplace" and use the shul's kitchen & the KCL didn't require any control or even kashering prior to a KCL caterer using that kitchen.

*KCL- We have to kasher the shuls' kitchen?
A Rabbi's Shul kitchen on sunset avenue in Lakewood always required kashering by the KCL prior to using by a KCL caterer, TILL The KCL was asked to co-certify (with shuls Rav) a bakery in Lakewood. Now suddenly the shul's kitchen became kosher without kashering? That's politics by KCL.

The rest of the story? The shul member told the non-KCL certified caterer, deliver everything to my home & I'll bring it over and now it's kosher.

You make it sound as if the KCL invented this policy. Its been going on for years with most non-organazational Hashgachas all over the Merto-NY area.
The rabbi on Sunset is not conventional whatsoever. He has all of Rav Abadi's kulos culled from Rishonim that no one else holds like plus his own meshugassin that he developed over the years lekula after first creating a reputation that he is a machmir in certain areas. Maybe it is the rabbinical equivalent of suffering a mid-life crisis.
Kasher plastic lechatchila not like R' Moishe. Eat bugs. Mashgichim in foodservice who can't be on guard with non-frum owners because they are kept busy with menial non-hashgocho work. Vos noch?
The shul on Sunset should appoint a kashrus committee. I propose their choshevah mispalel Yudi Kolko, his good friend Yankel Applegrad and Applegrad's mechutan Moish Finkel (Gavriel's uncle).
Antshuldicks- Yudi kolko, yankel applegrad and Moish Finkel DO NOT DAVEN HERE!
Yudi Kolko was davening there when he first moved to Lakewood.
There are enough Scandels Involving Gavriel Finkel His Bais Din, his Kashrus, and his family, you do not need to link him with the Sunset Shul Rov he does not get along with him neither Does Gavriel Finkel get along with The Mashgiach Shlita or for that matter anyone in town except for his former dayan Shulgasser from Bais Ahron who Honored him in Last years Dinner and Rabbi Forsheimer who is afraid to stand up to Finkels Shenanigans Because he knows who Gavriels Uncle is and he sure Knows who runs this town
Isn't Gissinger a partner in Bodek?
5 Towns Jewish Times & it's publisher "Larry" (Aryeh Leib) Gordon are at it again.
Is Larry's only kashrus standard dependent on who who takes out paid ads in his newspaper?
The new Key Food franchise in North Woodmere took out a full page ad a few weeks ago in 5TJT. It mentioned in passing like every chain supermarket does that they sell "kosher & non-kosher" or else any shelf item that is non-kosher would leave them in violation of NY State law. The huge ad was touting a deli dept with take out food. Especially coming on the heels of the new Fairway in Westbury with completely kosher depts of deli / takeout, bakery & fresh roasted coffee, the ad left the impression that Key Food is trying to duplicate this model as another competitor of Gourmet Glatt, etc.
The Key Food deli in actuality sells treif meats that are cut on the same slicer as the kosher meats. Someone could not be paying attention & inadvertently be nichshol after being drawn in by the ad. If you asked Key Food management, they were playing up the kosher selections without mentioning the treif. They only admit the deli is really treif when you press them.
Come on Larry, you couldn't provide any input into the wording of the ad, or you were afraid chas veshulem you might lose the advertiser?
In any case, Larry & his brother are being honored at the upcoming dinner for Chabad of the 5 Towns. We already knew Larry is a lapsed Lubavitcher who grew up davening in 770 (remember that when you see disgusting articles the Gordons write in the paper to attack Rav Schach ztl). Now thanks to the puff piece Larry wrote about himself being honored we know some more. Larry & his brother were the founders of the Chabad in the 5 Towns who brought the shaliach because they wanted somewhere to continue davening the Lubavitcher nusach. That makes it very interesting then that Larry left Chabad over 10 years ago to go daven on Beechwood by Rav Nayman, an alter talmid of the Brisker Rov. Not that he shows much respect for Rav Nayman & his mesorah. The Brisker Rov & Rav Schach were nunta yedidim. The Brisker Rov also signed the giluy daas with the rest of the gedolei Lita vePoilen that kashrus is from the yesodos of Yiddishkeit.
Larry is a shrewd businessman. He owns that new line of low calorie pizza made on crushed cauliflower instead of wheat dough. He wants it to sell in all quadrants so he got Hisachdus as the hashgocho. And of course he promoted the pizza on the front page of his newspaper.

If you hate abbadi because you never learned Halacha, and all you know are Brisker 'non-Lemayseh' Chumerahs, just come clean and say "I hate Abbadi"
But to curse out people who spend their lifetime steeped in "asukei shmatsah alibah d"hilchasa" just shows your ignorance in this field. Just because other poskim say different does not mean they are wrong (either one).
If you think that Rav Eliyashev &/or Rav Vosner &/or Rav Aurbach were the greatest Poskim (which they are & were) then follow ALL the psokim. I'm sure you don't and you rely on other Rabbonim as well - especially when its a bit inonvenient .
Be careful what you say or write about any Rov or Rosh Yeshiva or anybody for that matter.
Caterer Michael Schick also lives on Beechwood in Lawrence and recently hosted a parlor meeting for another big Brisker, R' Meir Stern shlita.
http://springfieldgroupinc.com/component/virtuemart/manufacturers/tevyas
But when it comes to kashrus, Schick is currently using chickens from the Springfield shechita which they say is Rubashkin's cousin Minkowitz. Or is it just another front for Rubashkin himself like Tevya's?
Schick just took over a major venue in the 5 Towns as the exclusive caterer. Thanks to his use of Springfield that means kashrus standards just went down.
Saying that Rav Abadi picks Rishonim that no one else poskens like is fact and does not mean that anyone hates him or is even criticizing him. The comment is evidently criticizing a certain talmid of Rav Abadi for going even further than his rebbe without any seeming basis.
So Whats New With The Kcl A few Years Ago There was A Caterer under The KCL Hashgacha in Lakewood who worked out of his House. On Shabbos He would send his waiters by car to his home to pick up cold cut platters, or whatever else he left at home to bring to the Simcha, sometimes He would be giving instructions to his waiter at the shul who was on the phone Relaying it over to the waiter who was at his house, directing him where the items are and what to pick up
Gavriel Finkel Should Rename His Beis Din "Vaad Hadayonim" The "Ocean County Court", Every case That Goes To Finkel Or one of His Dayanim, Birnbaum and Gutman,No Matter How Simple or Trivial ends Up In Ocean County Court
