ALERT: Bakeries in the NY Metro area may be using the same ovens for Dairy & Parve with a proper supervised kosherization. They are Ben yomoi & not even doing a "libun-kal".
Therefore before purchasing in a bakery that also does Dairy, ask if they have seperate ovens? If not, don't buy there. If it's a Hisachdus CRC bakery & they do dairy, you don't have to bother to ask-take your business somewhere else.
NOTE: There is "bi-ein" on the oven floor & sides, etc even when it's in a waterpan.
The Hisachdus CRC rely on the goy to decide which "glazing & brush" is for dairy & which is for parve.
NOTE: The Orginizsias Hashguchas like the OU, don't allow such a set up. So why use Hisachdus if you could upgrade & use OU?
If there is a Hisachdus CRC, the OU doesn't bother checking up as they rely on Hisachdus CRC. That's a shameful lack of responsibility.

There was a bakery in Queens that was placing Shabbos challos next to milchdik pastries. You could probably put up signs you are selling chazir & the VHQ won't catch it either because they are spread thin & too busy counting their money. The bakery moved the challos after a customer complained. At least someone was paying attention.

Most bakery ovens are a "Taanur Godol" and don't need any Kashring even a "libun-Kal".

24 years ago there was a Sachdis bakery in BP that in plain sight was baking the "pareve" broit in the same oven at the same time as cheese danishes. When rabbonim went to Sachdis about it, Sachdis as usual provided zero feedback as to what was done about it
