ALERT: Mehadrin's Rav Hamachshir would never have allowed those non kosher menus. BMG's KCL allows it all?

Lakewood's Voice on pages 134-137 has a 4 page ad from Mehadrin Dairy Company re: 9 day menus. DON'T USE ANY OF THE MENUS!

Mehadrin's Rav Hamachshir Reb Shia Katz "Magrov Rav" would never have allowed those non acceptable questionable menus, it's full of unacceptable ingredients for a Religious Jew.

They list the following unacceptable ingredients;
Butter with fish,
Frozen Brocolli (without specifying the acceptable brand) BMG's KCL allows almost all brands.
Fresh Herbs- all are infested- BMG's KCL allows all.
Fresh Garlic-(contains mites) BMG's KCL allows all
Frozen Spinach- There isn't any acceptable brand, BMG's KCL allows it
Fresh Parsley- all are infested- BMG's KCL allows all
Frsh Basil- All are infested- BMG's KCL allows all
Chicken soup mix & Mehadrin butter in the same soup.

Most Ashkenazik people are not makpid to eat fish and butter together. Even if find some who are, its a chumera adapted from a few poskim but not most poskim or its adopted from the Sefardim.

Todays Chicken soup mixes are (almost) all parve.

Fresh Garlic, if peeled, do not contain mites.

Brands are never specified.
Its obvious that one only buys kosher brands. Just like no recipe specifies to buy only Glatt Kosher Meat in a meat recipe.

@stop kvetching. Great post! Notice how Shain has nothing to answer!

Why do you say there is none acceptable brand of frozen spinach? Pardes farms has greenhouse grown frozen spinach under the hashgocho of Harav Hagoan R' Mordechai Gross shlita, that is 100% clean. They also have greenhouse grown frozen broccoli, and cauliflower, and I hear they will have soon many other items. Aren't you aware of them?

butter with fish? are you serious?

Rabbi Shain, why do you say there is no kosher herbs. Postive herbs are not kosher any more?

Who is Pardes Farms? Who is this Rabbi Gross? I never heard of him? They claim they are growing this new brand of frozen vegetables in greenhouses. Could you verify that? Are they as good as Postive?

Looks like Pardes is selling fast in NPGS. Is it available in other stores? Their spinach is very tasty. Only downside is that it's not available fresh, just frozen.

The rabonim of Postive stop the hashgoche on it, now they have it under a new name with dovid goldstein hechsher, I guess Rabbi Shain know better than us that this is not so good.

Pardes is growing all their products in greenhouses. Everything was set up to be better than Postive. They have a zero tolerance level. I will e mail Rabbi Shain exactly what was done and he can publicize it.

Reb Yudel, did you ever hear of lox and cream cheese.... standard Jewish food for Ashkenazic Jews, and suddenly you are worried about butter with fish. I think the extension of your complaints about KCL to blaming the Voice for their recipes is not fair! It sounds as if you are looking to complain just for the sake of having something to complain about and that devalues your many important contributions.

Is Pardes produce from Israel or the USA?

Pardes is from CHINA

Anonymous said...

Ofcourse we all know that anything in China thats grown, is so mehudar and kosher because the Chinese do everything you tell them to do without cheating and covering up,NOT!!!And I must add that if its taka boderline acceptable we will soon see people glowing ,not from toirah but toxic chemicals.

Mr. Anonymous or maybe someone from a competing company

Before you posted did you learn the entire shulchan aruch choseh mishpot. If even one person is swayed by your lies you are being mazik a company, you know nothing about. I am one of the owners of Pardes and I can say I am not mochel you not in this world and not in the next world for lying. All your tefillos are worthless and think about that when you daven on yom kippur for whatever you need.

To the owner of Pardes Farms,
Even though I agree with you that the previous comment is out of place and I understand your emotional outburst I nevertheless understand questioning the kashrus of your new products. Why should a costumer who is careful about the vegetables he eats buy your broccoli which is known to be usually full of bugs when its only known hechsher is Hisachdus, Bodek's hechsher which we know what that's worth. Your other hechsher, R Gross is totally unknown, so that doesn't give me an incentive to buy it. Why should I buy such a product if I could buy broccoli from a known company like Postive? If you are really the owner of Pardes why don't you give out the real facts? Who is R Gross? What are your real bug guidelines?

First I want to correct you, positive does not have any more broccoli, so you have a problem if you will only eat positive broccoli. A little history on R' Gross http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%9E%D7%A8%D7%93%D7%9B%D7%99_%D7%92%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%A1 I am sorry you haven't heard of him. If you eat tunva it is because of his hechser. It is not for me to say who R' Gross is, his accomplishments speak for themselves. I am not sure what you mean what are our bug guidelines we do not let any. If there are bugs in a greenhouse that greenhouse is not used. If you have a question, please be more specific. You can also e mail me at info@pardesfarms and I will answer all your questions.

I just picked up Positive Brocolli, bug free, hot house the works, Rav Vaye is certifying it. There is nothing more acceptable for one that is truly looking for "bug-free" product.

That wikipedia article was written by Abraham Shlesinger. The biography says that Rabbi Gross has no knowledge of agronomics, infestation, etc or any other technical knowledge required for kosher supervision. So therefore I will act accordingly.
