Most people ate Kellogs anyway. By going under the OU the non-eaters won't eat it now either. Maybe Reb Yudel and his non pesach hotels ????? Not sure about that.
Or maybe Kellogg's was reading Yudelstake & was so horrified by the scoop on Chaim Schwartz that they RAN to totally disassociate from KVH despite that Schwartz left years ago for the Queens Vaad.
