The Star-K's shabbos mode appliances are worse than the kosher switch.
Star-K's Shabbos- Mode appliances are ossur to use.
It all started a number of years back on "Mesifta-Di'rakiah" [short-wave-radio]. Rabbi Moshe Heineman stated that on Shabbos in a Shul one may "ki'lachar-yad" turn on or off the alarm on shabbos.
A participant stated that he has a magnetic type switch that one can use for the alarm on Shabbos that would be permitted even according to the "Chazon-Ish". An individual asked on the program can one reverse a magnetic polarity on Shabbos....? Star-K's Rabbinic Administrator responded forget the magnetic type switch "the Chazon-Ish is only a DAAS-YOCHID", & do it ki'lacharyad.
The STAR-K also utilizes the light-bulb to accomplish BISHUL-YISROEL.

The Shabbos mode appliances may not be so "shabbos friendly" after all.
Rav Shlomo Miller, Shlita [Toronto-Lakewood] recently publicized a letter re: Shabbos-mode ovens that one may not adjust temperatures on Yom-Tov, contrary to the kosher certification.
In respect to the above publicized letter from Rav Miller, we are not publicizing the name of the kosher certifier.
Others have researched the "Shabbos-friendly" appliances & concluded that according to ALL "Poiskim" it is not permitted to be used in the Shabbos mode. It is more than "Gramahs" that are being activated.
It's a "Bedikah-Di'Mayah", immediate action.

Did R' Yisroel Reisman really agree to putting a timer on hot plates, maybe cheshboning that R' Moishe would change his mind after the Sassoon tragedya?
ReplyDeleteOr did his moderner shul machers put it on Agudah of Madison letterhead without the rov's permission?
That shul is no full of moderner that it is jokingly known as Young Israel of Madison. Guys in leather or srugie yarmulkas chewing gum mitten davenen, walking dogs Shabbos afternoon, etc
Whats worse yudel. Talking loshon hora during davening, wearing a leather yarmulka? or chewing gum during davening

ReplyDeleteShould have figured it was sketchy when the Queens Vaad holds of it
Whose older?
ReplyDeleteReb Moishe Heineman or
Reb Shloimeh Miller?
Who decided that RSM is poisek achron in the USA?
Reb Moishe Heineman or
ReplyDeleteReb Shloimeh Miller?
Consistently when R' Shloyma has dinged on Heinemann, the gedolei Eretz Yisroel were also against Heinemann.
Enough said.

ReplyDeleteRav Schochet learned by R' Aron Kotler ztl.
1. Have an idea, go to poskim here and in Israel, present the idea, they agree and give a quiet go ahead.
ReplyDelete2. some kanoim, frummer then thou, jealous biased person or shvitzer / tumbler decides its not heimish, frum, or otherwise good for the people. starts a tumelt, gets a faction going then sends activist /terrorist to incite the oilom. Then gets some 'gedol' to back them up or to otherwise lobby to bashmutz the guy with a idea who did get halachik support.
This is the story in 90% of all these modern invention.
Unless you can box it in a frum or some tzedakah package your ideas are dead on arrival.

ReplyDeleteNot true.
There was no fight against KosherLamp because there is no chilul Shabbos.
Here & with Star K appliances there IS chilul Shabbos & Yomtov
Plain & simple.
The manufacturer of Kosher Lamp also makes a Shabbosdik toilet paper which even Belsky who screams "misas beis din" over KosherSwitch, says is ok.
ReplyDeleteNot kidding by the way!
http://theunorthodoxjew.blogspot.com/2015/04/street-corner-crazy-izzy-belsky-very.html
ReplyDeleteDid someone mention that Rabbi Belsky is very angry about Kosher Switch?
Wed Apr 29, 08:51:00 AM 2015
ReplyDeleteDo your homework. Remember its good 90%.
Shabbos mode is basically yom tov mode with some Shabbos features (not including tampering with temperature knob).
And its definitely as kosher as some eruvim in this and other countries.
All the security cameras use a computer with or without a screen.
ReplyDeleteThey have them all over. In most shuls and Yeshivos and no one says boo. Not even Yudel.
So lets hear it - Oh that's different because...........
Sounds like the security camera status hit a raw nerve somewhere.
ReplyDeleteDid anybody see the new "Shabulb" from Sunlite? It's an actual LED bulb that has a lever on the actual bulb that you can use to uncover the LED's in the bulb and turn on the bulb or cover the LED's to turn off.
ReplyDeleteSome one must have pushed some "more then Gramah" button recently.
ReplyDeleteHere he goes again on a moot subject.
Those who use it use it and those who don't (most of us) don't.
R. Miller.
ReplyDeletePoisek Achrin.
Brought in by Yeshivah - AKA Vaad.
Aye. Good for the Vaad.(If He listens to them).
How about the rest of town?
Are they allowed to rely on others?
There are many many other Rabbanim in town.
Last but not least - R. Miller knows tons. But....
Why can't Shain write a coherent article anytime. Starts in middle of thoughts ends in middle of thoughts and paskins like his opinion is the one that counts.
ReplyDeleteWith the brand new "Shabbos Keeper" (works with newer refrigs) there is nothing to worry. It goes into "Shabbos keeper mode by itself for Shabbos AND Yom Tov for the next 30 years or so.
ReplyDeleteBuy it now!!! Before......
Yudel with his cronies will come up with some pesakim from some Rabbis (Only the ones HE likes) VERY SOON. But for now its the most kosher thing around.
Please get your children Married VERY soon so that they can't intermarry. But its not a guarantee for not going Off the Derech (OTD). For that we will have to wait for Yudel's research (&/or payoff) for him to discover, or invent, that connection.
May my old standard non computerized fridge live ad ma'oh ve'esrim, please!
ReplyDeleteShabbos mode is still very useful even if you don't feel comfortable with adjusting the temperature. It allows one to open and close the door without worry of causing the oven to turn on automatically. Also, BTW on most current models you can bypass the 12 hour shutdown without shabbos mode.
ReplyDeleteFri Apr 20, 03:21:00 PM 2018
ReplyDeleteYour absolutely right.
But this blog , so far, is only interested in knocking RABOONIM not to tell us the truth.
This site NEVER told us that originally the Rav in charge of Shabbos mode DID get approval of the rabbonim here AND in Israel (not all but most).
But the terrorist got involved and the rest is history.
And from then on the Rav is A masis Oomadiach because Yudel's Rabbis may or may not sgree with the psak.
Just another day of life.
R' Yudel, agreed this is an important issue. But perhaps instead of implying everyone is going to gehinom (which may be true), try offering another kosher appliance that is acceptable. I think there was something from the Hisachdus and the OU regarding appliances......look into it?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct.
ReplyDeleteThere is the GE French door models that are shabbos friendly and in full compliance of Halacha, It's certified by the OU.
Yes, I do have that in my home.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/woman-sues-ex-mk-dov-lipman-for-sexual-harassment-in-counterclaim/
ReplyDeleteAnother Ner Yisroel musmach added to the long, long list of who it's advisable to be careful of
Now GE Appliances has with the OU and Hisachdus on cheap ovens and refrigerators.
ReplyDeleteYou should post a link to their website for people who don't know.
We want to congratulate and thank Reb Yudel for his research (one sided), HARD work and documentation of the Rabbinical sources who side with him.
ReplyDeleteIt would also be proper to site the opposing view and their Rabbinic sources. Not a easy task even for Reb Yudel. But according to Reb Yudel's own source, not only would it be proper but it mat solver that infamous 'intermarriage Mageifa' just by conveying the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Or in Yudel's lingo: the good, the bad and the not so ugly.
Maybe it’s "Bedikah-Di'Mayah". But on a bounce - on a delay. That is known in true Halacha as “ Koach sheini” NOT a direct action as in koiach rishon.
ReplyDeleteReb Shloima and Reb Moishe are associates and have every right to have different opinions.
ReplyDeleteReb Moishe has been a 'shtot' Rov for many many years. Reb Shloima is a great posek but never officially was a 'shtot' Rov until they dragged him to Lakewood to be the balancing poisek for all those non-Lakewood wanna be rabbonim.

Anyone with some knowledge in the electronics of the Star-K's shabbos friendly appliances know that anyone using them is "oiver" on Isurei-Torah" R"L
ReplyDeleteTir
Who know these electronics better then the Genius Reb Moishe Shlit'a ?? Or any Heinemann for that matter???
ReplyDeleteHeinemann being smart only makes him more dangerous when he feifs on the gedolim & manufactures bogus heterim. Klal Yisroel had enough problems already from Belsky & the anti-vaxx guru of Philly, RSK.

ReplyDeleteFeif ah Hehr, Feif Ah Heen. Belski won. So will Heinemann and so will Reb Shmuel (AND Reb sholom).
So keep venting here to release the pressure so you don't get a heart attack C"V
A orthodox Jew can NOT buy any major appliance without being mechalel shabbos and Ym Tov if it does not have STAR-K Shabbos mode. No one asked you to use it to its fullest nevertheless Rabbi Heinemann MUST get the credit for seeing this issue arriving many years before it did.
ReplyDeleteThe other OU shabbos gadget which works so far only on GE appliances - they working on other companies but don't know if its available yet - is also to Rabbi Heinenmann's credit since without him no one would of thought that working with the companies is a option.
A correction would be in order.
ReplyDeleteGE engineering was in touch with another frum technical individual familiar with electronics.
At a certain point this individual refused to accept GE's engineers Grama switch, as it would be actualy Ossur on Shabbos.
GE engineer said, we have a Rabbi that will accept that Grama Switch as is.
That was the Star-K's Rabbi Heineman that accepted it.
Reb Shlomo Miller, Rav Shternbuch, Dayan Weiss, etc are all of the opinion that it is Ossur on Shabbos or Yom Tov.
A question was then sent to Rabbi Heineman, according to your psak, one can use a computer on Yom-Tov if the screen is off, and he said that's correct.
This letter from Rabbi Miller is old news.
ReplyDeletePeople tire of old news.
And disregard it as ranting.
In any case most ppl do not use this heter of highering the temp on YT without screens.
R' Yudel, you need to expose information that's more applicable to peoples everyday interaction with Shabbos mode.
Investigate, I'm sure you'll find alot.
The OK staff have been finding infestation in cashews.
ReplyDeleteDes that mean they are using Klein's nuts?
It means they are using Klein's Naturals nuts.
ReplyDeleteDoes Rav Shlomo Miller know the facts regarding Shabbos mode, or is he clueless [as Yudel claims] as he is with Treifos in Chalav Stam?
ReplyDeleteRav shmiimeh Miller Shlit”a is Yudels man when yudel decides that he is right.
DeleteThen and only then.
There have been bugs in OU cashews all the years in the generics under drug store chain labels which are imported from 3rd World countries.
ReplyDeleteIn Costco Kirkland OU, there was ever bugs found?
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ with you.
The heimish are getting theirs from Kleins naturals, they claim bugs are natural.
I didn't say big box stores like Costco. I said the chain drug stores (like Rite Aid).
ReplyDeleteBut you can also be moissif supermarkets that have a karg way bichlal of doing their business (Wegman's).
Heinemann and Miller are both Talmidim of Reb Aron. I assume they are friends.
ReplyDeleteThey have every right to gave different opinions about any halachik subject.
In this case where you say it’s bidka d’maya (assuming you mean join h rishon) Heinemann it’s koiach shan’t or beyond.
Just because you in the Miller team doesn’t mean your right. It dose t mean you wrong either. It just means you are allowed to respect
Someone who differs with you especially a Rov in the same town for 50ish years. Just like you expect respect from others who differ with you .

Heinemann has no right to his opinions because they have no basis in halacha.
ReplyDeleteFind a single gadol who agrees with Heinemann's chilul Yomtov to operate computers on appliances, to certify bishul akum, certify other types of non-kosher food, feminism in gittin (hello mamzerus!), etc
Thats your biased opinion.
DeleteBiased. Yes. Plain old hate.
Being on the side of ALL gedolim vs krum Heinemann psak is "bias" & "hate".
ReplyDeleteHow creative of you!
Being on the side of all your gedolim is not biased and or hate but to make a bar pelugtah who is a talmid chachom a mechalel shabbos etc is absolutely rooted in your hatered for people and Rabbi heinenmann in particular.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know it.
Cut it out already. There is not one gadol who defends Heinemann as *not* being machshil the rabim in chilul Yomtov.
ReplyDeleteOr to put it more simply to preempt the word games of the Heinemann defender, all the gedolim say Heinemann's so called Shabbos mode IS chilul Yomtov.
ReplyDeleteThey only said that after the activist/terrorist hit these poskim.
ReplyDeleteJust like they did to Rev Aurbach and the Shmiras Shabbos K'hilchasoy.
You know it as well as everyone else but when that is your agenda anything goes...
Once again, no one is saying who is right except you, but you dont have to curse, criticize, or other wise belittle a established talmid of Reb Aron, a colleague of Rebbi Miller.
All you should say is Rabbi so and so is matir and most other poskin asser. No name calling, belittling is necessary at all.
The OU mashgiach in Queens is the only NUT who labels anyone exposing things he wants to be covered up as a "terrorist". The OU mashgiach loves Heinemann because he protects molesters like mechuton Bryks. And the OU mashgiach wants all establishment scandal covered up (Heinemann is head of Baltimore Agudah) because it offers a buffer zone of protection for the many scandals in the mashgiach's gantze mishpooche.
ReplyDeleteThere is a big difference of most poskim disagreeing with someone to when ALL poskim disagree against someone like Heinemann.
The mashgiach tries to back up his fake "point" by mischaracterizing a RSZA mayseh. The tayna was actually on Rav Neuwirth. RSZA is an adam gadol meod, who unlike Heinemann, does have a right to be a daas yochid even with big chiddushim. And no one made a tummel about many such RSZA piskei halacha in the sefer, like his chiddush about muktzah in a drawer. But when it came to something that everyone else held was an actual melacha, gedolim felt that psak should not be publicized. Rav Neuwirth edited that one detail & the tummel was over.

ReplyDeleteOnce again we pick and choose which poskim to quote and which to OMIT - YES. OMIT.
Then they they choose who is the most chushu and finalize their agenda WITHOUT quote other matirim or oisrim.
In theory there is nothing wrong with that in today's word especially on this world right here.
But when someone relies on his Rav, Posek or maybe his Rosh Hayeshivah he has every right to follow his tradition and any words posted agaist him is NOT for a positive purpose and displays the undercurrent in the post. (As in the Heinemann issue or issues - its not what he paskens its a spiteful reaction to 'pezenlicheh nigious for whatever shtus reason you don't see eye to eye with him or he didnt talk to you or treat you right - which has been used here more then once)
Say what you have to say:
He says this, this godol backs him (If you don't know who they find them - you seem to find every thing else your looking for) then quote the opposing poskim and decide who is the most chusov and unarguable with.
You'll be overyoirtze you chiyuve to vent against those peope who dont treat you right or don't want to talk to you.
In fact if you act professionally and behave and respect them the odds are very high that you'll be able to converse with them in a professional and b'kovod manor. and get more 'bang for your buck' with your outstanding blog.
It's almost amusing how the OU mashgiach of Queens kochs vee a hundt that his many opponents are "terrorists" & often worse, but then gets up on his soapbox to lecture everyone with a straight face how to address mit the upmost kuved, yeden kal who he admires!
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting for the mashgiach to name even ONE posek who agrees with Heinemann that his appliance computers are not chilul Yomtov.
Its not anyones job to be your gofer and find things for you.
ReplyDeleteYou know very well as is known to all that some rabbonim who present a pesak or a product have checked it out with many other rabonim and poiskim prior to acting.
It is also very well known that certain activist (cant call them terrorists because thats worse then hitler - not sure if he knows much about hitler) do and did and will do what they doc 9 trying to act like..... But generally speaking they just get ignored and the pesakim and products do very well. Finally a better product came out and people are gravitating to it not so much for the halachik end but more for the great convenience of this product. Of course the Activists - non Hitlers - are claiming victory. But they themselves know the non truth in this victory.
OU mashgiach, du redst vee a Turk. The hypothetical gibberish or what may have happened elsewhere that you hock about today at 2:23 pm, has nothing to do with your favorite Baltimore rabbi who does NOT get haskomos for his vilda chidushim
ReplyDeleteJust because Rebbi Shain decided to follow poskim who do not 100% agree with Rabbi Heinemann’s Shabbos mode does not mean that he is causing outright chillul Shabbos. There are poskim who backed him - more then you think.
ReplyDeleteYou could say it should be improved which it finally was but until the improvement there was nothing out there.
It’s like carrying in a eiruv where the Yeshivah light Do not carry or keep Shabbos until 72 min after shkia where lots of people rely on more lenient zemanim ( including the Lakewood oilom)
Say it’s not for “us” say it’s not for … but to accuse Jews of absolute chillul Shabbos is taking it a bit far ( even if YOUthink so)
Did rabbi miller say Chalav Treifah is permitted too?
ReplyDelete"There are poskim who backed him"
ReplyDeleteName even one of them!
We can't hear you.
Pin drop & cricket noises are not the names of poskim.
At least Rabbiner Heinemann has some kind of charisma that he generates such diehard defenders
The noisemakers are always looking for more noise - pro or con.
ReplyDeletePoskim REAL POSKIM such as Reb Aron’s Talmidim never looked for noise. Saint he one you like abs said the ones you don’t like.
Empty heads make lots of noise.
