Why does TAG charge extra for filters and then keep part of the money. up to 50 percent!!! I used to pay $30 for my filter and it has more than doubled!! just so TAG can take a HUGE cut.
Hatzolas nefashos really do it for the mitzva and have none of the hubris. They support patient autonomy (taking to rhr hospital of patient choice). They even coordinated with other organizationa ao the right medical team is waiting for patient upon arrival at the e.r. i owe them a huge hakaras hatov for transporting my teen to the right hospital

Good thing that HN went to Newark with 4 vehicles to pick up one patient… were they all planning to escort the ambulance up to Sullivan County as well. On a different note: if all 7 members were in Newark airport, who was covering their high volume of calls in the Lakewood/Jackson/TR areas??
The additional cars was to accommodate the patient's family and luggage, to bring the ALS crew to the airport, and allow the Dr that accompanied the patient be taken home. How nice of them to be so considerate and not stuff everything into the back of the ambulance.
Ah hah. So the vehicles sent to pick up the family and luggage parked by the terminal with all their lights flashing… On a different note, HN does not have any legal ALS!!
Yes, the police requested it, so that they can park there and not be chased away. Hatzolo Bergen does not have ALS. And since the patient was going to NY, by law, a legal NY paramedic may provide treatment during transport, even during the NJ portion of it.
Seems Marx & Engels were right. Religion is just an opiate, convincing the masses to dream of a better next world. To get them to passively take more and more abuse in this world from those above them

My Son Was Rejected From A Lakewood Yeshiva, the Public School System Welcomed Him
My 8-year-old was removed from his school for behavioral challenges (the principal said he didn't follow directions or was disruptive). We had a face-to-face meeting & the principal decided my kid should be removed until eligible for ABA.
I was devastated.
How can a school just reject a child like that?
We were proactive, did what needed to be done to start the process—insurance, diagnosis, etc. Suffice it to say, the process was extremely tedious & took 3 months.
In the meantime, my kid became more & more disengaged & withdrawn.
6 months went by, we had no idea what to do. As a licensed therapist, I could see the risks, certain symptoms were concerning to me.
I had advocates calling the school pleading for my son to come back temporarily while everything's completed.
The principal didn't budge.
We were rejected & dismissed.
We needed an assessment. We contacted the Board of Ed, they guided by having our son enrolled in the system.
When asked why the assessment was needed, we had to tell them the truth.
My husband got a call, was told if we don’t enroll our child, the DOE would send a summons (leading to criminal charges).
My kid, 7, was enrolled in public school.
Day 1 happened, he was nervous, but by the end of the day, I saw the glow on his face & smile. I was beyond happy to see what I was missing.
He was there for a month.
He was treated with respect as far as his observances.
I was so happy to see that.
Fast forward, he was rejected by a local Lakewood mosad I won't name.
Someone asked, “Do you have pull?”
Why should someone have to plead or bargain for a school to accept their child?
I'm all for rules, but believe in authenticity.
I don't believe “dressing the part” is authentic for an interview.
We gave it our authentic selves & being rejected, dismissed is a horrible feeling.
People are afraid my kid will lose his Yiddishkeit. I believe quite the opposite, as the foundation is our home.
I do believe his sense of loss for Jewish values is due to how he was treated by the mosdos.
Will this system change?
I believe it's time to say goodbye to Lakewood.
I loved some of the people, but my kid’s happiness & values are a much bigger priority, I don't think he'll find them here.
I want my family to be loved & recognized for their true, authentic selves.
I write to give a voice to people who were also rejected / dismissed.
Shalom Torah Academy is pretty much the only option for any family in Lakewood who wants a co-ed Modern Orthodox type school. The problem is that the people who run it are complete idiots and incompetent bumbling fools at best. The principal has such a complex and seems hell bent in letting everyone know about her power. A yenta from Lakewood who is the daughter of a rabbi and the husband of a rabbi is on a power trip hiring and firing staff left and right. They are determined to get as much money as they can get their hands on so the new shtick is to get every kid assessed for special services so they can get their hands on state and federal money. People have experienced serious concerns with the principal, she doesn’t seem to be mentally competent to run an institution like this. The innocent children are at risk. It’s high time for new leadership at STA.
