UPDATE: Regarding the New halls in Lakewood- Ateres Esther and Ateres Blima, we notified them that we have many serious kashrus concerns with their choice of caterer.

From a comment: This caterer has some serious kashrus concerns  that are in the areas of chilul Shabbos, Bishul Akum, Bos'ur Shenis'alem, treif utensils, misleading clientele, etc. R"L

We gave them some better choices from a kashrus point and reliability.

Lakewood caterers, restaurants, take-out, pizza stores, food service, etc. establishments do not all have an acceptable kashrus standard.

Some are more reliable from a kashrus standpoint.

To: “we notified them”.
You have the option of not making a wedding there and/or not eating there &/or not attending any event there (so that Lakewood residents would not accuse you of eating there Chas veshalon).
There are many MANYoeoe who do not observe your pesakim and/or chumrahs (including things you say is Halacha and other poskim disagree).
Thus we are glad you notified them that you’re not a happy camper and they will make a simple BUSINESS decision how to proceed.
But thank you anyway.

Is the issue the caterer or the fact that they have KCL (lack of) hashgocho.

Anonymous said...

it's not recent news that this caterer has serious issues, the KCL has had numerous kashrus issues that they found (which is far from the many they did not find). but "az min sh'mirt" etc.
the side bebefits to the kcl make it a hefsed mi'ribah to them.

Hey, if you want to eat at those places, go ahead. BUT, to invite guests to eat at your affair is stooping pretty low for a lakewood yeshiva'man.

Yoav is a Temimisdike Yid, and wont hurt a fly. He operates his business for many years giving tremendous tzedakah and helping those in need. I'm sure one can write a book about his chesed. What problems exactly do you have with his operation? Number one rule in hashgacha is you have to trust the Ba'al Habus. Please tell me what you cant trust about him.

Some of the kashrus concerns are in the areas of chilul Shabbos, Bishul Akum, Bosur Shenisalem, treif utensils, misleading clientel, etc. That sounds pretty serious.

Just with all of the accommodations he has to give to his hashgocha, is a sure sign that he has serious issues. A while back he had numerous issues with the kclk, then suddenly everything is all right, when in doubt follow the money trail.
he's no Temimisdike Yid at all, just a real Israeli.

All I read is innuendo. You haven't produced any documentation about these issues - only hearsay. Provide documentation.

It seems to me that all it is is petty jealousy over the fact that you're not getting the money for the place going under your Hashgocho.

Put up or shut up, you moral coward.

Anytime any underman invites you for a Mel you have the exact same issue most of the time.

This whole operation in צורך מצוה גדולה and for the price their charging it’s also a הפסד מרובה. So one can really be מיקל. As far as inviting guest, insulting your guest by not inviting the m is אבזריהו of שפיכת דמים which is דוחה כל התורה כולה -even Horav Hagaon Reb Yudels Torah or shticklach Taireh.

R' Yudel Shain does not give a hashgocha to any caterer, so what are you talking about. R' Yudels kashrus info over the years were always found to be correct. He caught numereous other food service places with serious issues, more than anyone else.

Reb yudel doesn't address those that feel that they must eat without limits.

Reb Has His Specialty ( Mistamah taught to him by Reb Shneur Zatzal - no one deny it). He gives his hashgacha on what's not kosher or what he claims is not kosher.

If you accuse everyone of being no good, then if there is ever a scandal you can claim you called it.

Do you hear this ruyigeh Ferd? said...

It would sure make you happy then if everyone sat back & did nothing in the face of corruption in many places. Similar "logic" as a late rav hamachshir who argued there was no point in checking lettuce because the repeatitive motions make you dizzy to the point you can't detect, so don't bother checking anything.

I know that the nervous Grumman only eat Pella or Frankel chicken so then can sleep at night that no Bakshish was involved. Also with the price they pay it’s easy to say: “I use Pella/Frankel you don’t”
Well, the same with wedding halls.
Everyone is looking for the”you use this hall I don’t” Hall.
Well here you got the two “I don’t” Halls. Now any other place is good enough even if they don’t let in Pella/Frankel even if you pay extra for it.
Reb Yudel !! Mission accomplished.

Did R’ Yudel see the viral video of food concessions in Kerestir with suspicious display of shgooche of the Eidah?

Or what's the explanation behind this? A Rav Chaim Shlomo Berger is lately identifying himself to people as the rav hamachshir of the Chassidishe kehilla in Casa Grande, Arizona. Does that mean that Rav Shteinmetz who moved there from Monsey is out? Or competing? And is it a coincidence that Chaim Shlomo Berger happens to be the name of the Libitchoiv Ruv of Monsey who gives shgoochos in Rockland County?

Galitzianer town halfway between Lvov & Lublin which in Polish is spelled Lubaczow but is pronounced Libitchoiv

Some Oola brand granola bars under OU-Sachdis sold in Lakewood state pareve on the outer box but milchdik on the inner wrappers

Anonymous said...

Someone is making a tummel that Heimishe Lakewood gesheften are selling Kronenbourg Blanc 1664 without any shgooche on the manufacture. It is officially a wheat beer with citrus. Does it need shgooche? These are the ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat, glucose syrup, aromatic caramel, aromas, hop extract, stabiliser: acacia gum (E414), spices: orange peel, coriander.

Anonymous said...

An announcement just went out that the Oola granola bars under story is fake news. Someone made a mistake confusing 2 different kinds of product & got the askan riled up into making an incorrect announcement. The shlemazal paired the dairy with the pareve which is not sold like that.

Could you tell us hillbillies who observe dietary laws who the caterer is and whose rabbinical supervision it is under?

Hillbillies? no-way. Just a פושע

These halls are Takooneh Halls. The Takooneh is very simple: Don't listen to Yudel. Thats what makes a takooneh hall.

Anonymous said...

Is this like a venting blog ??
..We notified them....... nebach no one listened, is listening or will listen. So B'H for this blog they can now blog and speculate to their heart's desire. On the end of the day, business is business and oilom goilom just eats and eats and eats.

With these type of halls where the kashrus is not what it should be, one should not put return cards in the invitation, so you aren't inviting anyone to eat there.

Heimish said...

Oh, that is why people stopped putting return cards.

Anonymous said...

I know of some people that because of the kashrus, they don't put return cards.

Anonymous said...

You mean the Chasidin who haven’t used return cards in decades never made a kosher wedding.

Anonymous said...

By chasidim, you get up to dance or talk to someone for a minute, some other chosid is in your seat already, so they don't send return carrds. By non-chasidim, you get up for a minute, the waiter cleans off your portion.

Fort Hamilton Parkvay said...

In Torah Veyirah hall you got up for a few seconds & a Shnorrer was in your seat. He was alternating between all your already half eaten items to slurp up your zup with your leffel, fress your chicken portion & contaminate your glass to wash down the Essen with your trink. In the rest of the velt it’s bassar that has a din of nisaleim min ha’ayin. In that creepy place it’s everything else too that you have to assume was tampered with & full of germs from street bum types who probably never have medical care
