A prominent brand was recently identified to contain shatnez. Tiglio, a popular men's suit brand, was found with wool and linen in its taper reinforcements. A substandard shatnez check might miss it because the linen, used as a pinstripe in the scraps, is hard to spot. We have included pictures of this shatnez for you to review. The white line is pure linen, while the rest of the scrap is pure wool. Regrettably, certain stores, such as Prestige Shoes & Suits in Lakewood, New Jersey, offer the Tiglio brand alongside inadequate shatnez testing. They also sell many suits labeled "pre-tested," which should not be trusted. Vaad L'Mishmeres Shatnez urges that any clothing potentially containing shatnez should only be tested in a certified laboratory.
