Brocolli, Cauliflower, Spinach, Artichokes, Strawberries, Edible-flowers etc are infested with various insects. There are numerous processes, growing methods, kosher certifiers etc that have attempted to produce a consistant "insect-free" product.
Some have not been successfull at all, others have been successfull for some or most of their productions. In the end just about all of them had mishaps & some or most of the product was infested. Not always was the product pulled prior to distribution-so in the end the consumer consumed infested product R"L.
Therefore it's advisable to refrain from using ANY of the above regardles of the source, "the risk-factor is too high".
Note; Thin chopped cabbage & iceberg lettuce under the Dole label with KAJ or Bodek's were found to be the only items that were consistently insect free.
