Many incidents of shatnez are being found with men's neckties. As a rule, all ties containing wool or linen require testing. In addition, silk ties manufactured in the U.S.A. and Europe should be tested.

Why would a tie which is claimed to be 100% silk or a silk polly blend require testing? If you it's manufactured in the USA or Europe there's a chance that they'll also use both linen and wool in it??
In the 1990s there was at least a few brands of designer name tie from Europe that the stiffener inside the 100% silk body is a wool-linen mix that is not declared in the ingredients. I would be surprised if more examples were not found in the last 30 years. The known culprits in the 90s were Spanish & Italian.

The interlining may contain both wool and linen.
