Shabbos Mode appliances- Not Kosher! It's an issur of Gramah at least
Kosherswitch:Falsely indicating that Rav Moshe Sternbuch endorses product-Shabbos- Mode appliances have the same switch.
A company selling grama switch for Shabbos is claiming an endorsement from Rav Moshe Sternbuch. HaGaon R’ Moishe Sternbuch shlit’aChief Rabbi/Ra'avad of the Eidah HaChareidis Yerushalayim. “Not gramma, better than gramma; Brocha that you should get the good to stay good, and get the bad to become good!” (1/5/2010 at his home)
I received the following letter from Rav Sternbuch's gabbai
I asked the Rav about this, he told me that he was asked about it, he wrote a letter via Rabbi Sigler on the issue, the Rav holds that it is not only chilul shaboss, but "akiras shaboss" to use this switch, the rav asked for his opinion to be publicized since he has been asked recently about this from numerous sources. It all started a number of years back on "Mesifta-Di'rakiah" [short-wave-radio]. Rabbi Moshe Heineman stated that on Shabbos in a Shul one may "ki'lachar-yad" turn on or off the alarm on shabbos.

Rice Dream is produced with hashgacha temedis. When kashering is done on a ben yomo, it undergoes two kasherings with a dovor hapogem. Cold product that is put in holding tank generally do not hold product for 24 hrs, which would result in kavush. in case a holding tank is used for non-kosher for more than 24hrs, it is kashered by extensive spray ball heat which our Poskim accept as hagala

New York Kosher Label Act Is Constitutional, Court Says
New York Kosher Label Act Is Constitutional, Court Says-By Bob Van Voris - May 10, 2012
A New York law regulating the marketing and labeling of kosher food doesn’t violate the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court ruled, rejecting a First Amendment challenge.
A New York law regulating the marketing and labeling of kosher food doesn’t violate the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court ruled, rejecting a First Amendment challenge.
A three-judge panel of the court in New York today affirmed a lower-court ruling that upheld the law, which replaced an earlier version the court overturned in 2002. The appeals court said the Kosher Law Protection Act of 2004 doesn’t violate First Amendment provisions restricting laws relating to religion.
Re: pre-checked vegetables
There is a recent new company with pre-washed vegetables "Kleen farm". They use market produce "not green-house" grown. They do a washing under the supervision of a mashgiach, who checks a relatively small amount of samples to ascertain if the washing is working.Kleen Farm may be the solution to the many if not most foodservice establishments that don't have trained expert mashgichim for checking infestation. It just doesn't compare to the trained expert on site mashgiach or to the positive system which starts with green house grown product.
Numerous food service establishments that have been using the greenhouse grown & superior inspection " Positive" brand have recently opted (or were instructed) to use the kleen-farm brand. Prior to using a food service establishment ascertain what they are using in their menu.

The AIDAH Yerushalem tread$ on new turf
When a product does not meet the strict guidelines of the Aidah, but there are leniencies that can be relied upon, etc it becomes מאושר approved not under the Hashgocha per se.
e.g. Frozen checked strawberries from China, the Aidah will not certify it for home use, but for commercial use (food service / bakeries) it will most likely be baked or cooked so it will be nisrasek....it becomes approved.
Let's see how many hundreds of items may fall into the new category. Will they be "mi'asher", bitul bi'shishim, kitnious she'nish'tanu, linas lai'lah, aino ben yomoi, pas palter, etc?
Kashrus alert: Livers in plastic bags in ducks, turkey, chicken
Kashrus alert: Livers in plastic bags in ducks, turkey, chicken become "kovush" and you can't even broil them-you must dispose of them.
The livers are not yet broiled (kashered), hence kovush makes them "ossur".
