for Rosh Hashonah- use a whole "smoked-white-fish", cut off just the tail end and the rest is all HEAD OF FISH

One can also buy a whole smoked white fish, which comes with the head.
Once you remove tail, the rest is all ראש דג
No cooking required.

Smoked insects apparently won't cause intermarriage ????

If smoked white fish has no insects, why does it have to be Banner?
Are Banner fish ‘holier then thou-se’ other companies?

What happened to the warning from many years ago that Whitefish from Lake Michigan have worms in the head?

http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/Library/232932.pdf

and since then, Whitefish as far north as Canada's Arctic Circle are infested with many types of parasites.

I am wondering if all cooked, that is baked, roasted, grilled, etc. fish would be as good as the whitfish. Is the heter that it is cooked? Is the whitefish better for some reason?

It's so much cheaper, they charge for the head more than the entire smoked whitefish.

If you cut off the tail, all of the rest is "roish".

Most people wish to be a head not just tail less. thus use the head head..

I thought Banner hangs his hat on Belsky.

Pretty sure his choshuveh father at the Jackson Moroccan kehilla does not hold of Belsky manufactured heterim.

How much can I charge for a calf head which really may be a good rib steak or some nice lamb chops from a tail-less calf or lamb??
Must one remove the tail BEFORE shechita?
How about if it was removed after shechita but before koshering? Or treibering? Or if it’s cut in the back of a butcher shop does it now become a head from a tail?
If one cut off the head is the rest now pure tail?
I want to send these questions to Reb Chayim Shlit”a. And if possible toReb Moshe Shternbuch.
If I’m not successful with either Rabbonim I’ll send it to Reb Moshe Heinemann and do the opposite - I think Reb Yudel (and maybe Rav Shternbuch) would be very proud of me.
Ksiva vachatima Tova.

Today in a supermarket some customer was all bent out of shape that they were selling heads only, not as a whole fishelah. I wonder if it was a BT or a Torah Or talmid?
