Olives from Italy without a good hashgocha, may be dairy, treif, wine vinegar, etc

Even the OU who are always looking to make a few extra bucks stopped allowing olives from Greece a few years ago. They said the producers were playing games and could not be trusted.

Chof K is deliberating to give hashgocho on the open olive vats at a major supermarket chain. That would be a dumb idea. There is a treif cafe and shoppers are otherwise fingering & fressing all kinds of treif goodies in the store before they stick their sticky fingers in the vats.
