The gedolim all signed 25 years ago that you can no longer rely on the Achronim who allowed checking a small percentage. The OU first went along with it as to not upset bnei Torah who follow halacha. Then all of a sudden one day, Belsky gives the OU the green light to start checking the old way again and they never bothered to notify the public that they had a big backslide in standards. There are dozens of hashgochos, if not more, that hide behind all of Belsky's bogus heterim.
