Re: Is Lakewood's KCL kashrus for Bnei torah

In other words, every agency, organization, and individual out there giving hashgacha should be doing a

proper job.

Unfortunately, many are not, even to the point that one cannot eat at establishments that they certify or eat the products that they certify unless the kashrus system is independently verified.

Ubiquitous underperformance, even in bastions of holiness, does not make it more acceptable to do a sub-standard job, but it allows us to be more kind in considering that a deficient agency, organization, or individual is not a standout, but one of many.

The reasons vary: lack of expertise in kashrus systems, lack of management skills, lack of budget, lack of the community’s willingness to properly fund a top-notch, or even Halachically acceptable, kashrus program, misplaced compassion towards unqualified staff, turf wars, negligence, and sometimes even avarice and lack of yir’as Shamayim.

But the consequences are the same: a community unknowingly eats that which is Halachically prohibited, and the knowing of the community are left with no good options and are frowned upon by the unknowing.

May Hashem protect all His children and grant us all to eat properly kosher food.

RE: KCL's
Kashrus reliability -

Is the Lakewood Oilum Gullible or just Naïve?

The main difference between naive and gullible is that naive is used to refer to a person who shows lack of judgement or who’s inexperienced in performing some task.
On the other hand, gullible is used to denote a person who could be easily persuaded to believe something. Gullible and naive are not the words having exactly same meaning but they could go hand in hand.

The matter of fact is, naive will probably make you gullible.

One needs to watch what comes out of one's mouth more than what goes in! (Quote attributed to Hgaon Reb Yitzchok Hutner Zt'l)

The truth hurts, Reb Yeedil said...

We know that all the big cities have hashgachas that are flawed. According to Morainee Reb Yeedel - MAJORLY flawed.

Only the one or two hashgachas that help the "consumer Kashrot" make a couple of 'Rubles' 'phaar parnooseh' are OK. And even them not Everything, only the 'stuff' that CK ("consumer Kashrot") needs for his customers who won't live without them (similar to the modern hashgachas whos users won't stand for for the "frummy Rabbi Chimrahs).

So we are all in the same boat - some a bit more then others.

KCL is not gullible nor naïve, they are a shrewd mafia, taking protection money from every food place around.

This one sounds like the KCL's Mafia.

Israel Police shut down a “protection racket” operating at a parking lot near the Kosel.
During the weekend, the police conducted a focused operation against the collection of “protection money” near the Old City, due to a number of cases reported to the police in recent days, according to which innocent civilians parked in a public parking lot near the Old City of Jerusalem. Persons would approach and demand money to make certain their car was not damaged while parked.

During the undercover operation, police parked a vehicle in a public lot near the Kosel and were approached by a youth who demanded money to ensure the vehicle was not damaged while parked. When the undercover policeman refused, the suspect threw a stone at the vehicle, damaging it. The police placed the 16-year-old in custody. He has already been arraigned and his remand was extended.

X-Rated- I did a search on this site for the KCL standards, and it's not for the faint heart to read.

How the Roshei Yeshiva allows this scandal, is no kasha-It's all about power and control, but the erliche yidden in this Town, what happened to them?

It must be that years of Timtum, affected them all big time.

The Naïve just follow the self appointed leader.
The Guidable just follow the last comment.
The educated do research and don't follow either the self appointed leader nor the comments.

The first poster (July 03,3:13 am) who claims that quote was from Rav Hutner zt"l. Actually it's a quote from the so-called NT (new testament).

The Oilum should be aware that Glatt Gourmet (River Ave) Lakewood is permitted
by their Hashgcha, the KCL to use all types of unchecked aka infested produce.

There re many other kcl certified food service establishments that do the same, so refrain from eating any produce items in the kcl certified establishements.

Rubashkin Fresser said...

That would be rather ironic if the quote is takka from the Noitzrim instead of Rav Hutner. Because establishment Chabadskers used that line attempting to shut up anyone pointing out kashrus deficiencies at Agri. It was even pulled against the minority of shluchim who knew better than to eat from Rubashkin.

According to Reb Yudel - just wash every leaf and your good to go.

Limayse R Finkel zl is one of the rabbanim of KCL. So how does it work do we hold of him or not? When he Paskens in Kashrus then it's not good but when he writes an ikul then it is good?

Any one can issue a Psak or guidelines in Kashrus
The question is are those Guidelines actually being carried out.
Is there supervision on the Ground level ?

Non Fresser BBQ Rice said...

Anyone can hock, blog and advertise against others.
The question is can you do something productive on your own too, or just warn how bad everyone else supposedly is?

Anonymous said...

R Finkel did not issue Ikkuls
To the Contrary he would issue Heter Arkous
(Permission to go to Secular courts)

Non Fresser Orthodox Jew Not Mashgiach said...

On the comments here on different posts it said he wrote an ikul on Arlington Shul. And the oilam here claimed that rabbi Kahan is wrong because he supposedly ignored the ikul.
If replying please stay on topic. Thank you

First we have to establish that there are bnai torah on this blog - BAHR MINAHN. Then you can klehr if KCL is for this blog or not...

Anonymous said...

It seems that Hisachdus/CC is the New Kshrus for All the people of Lakewood

Anonymous said...

Rabbi Gavriel Finkels Heter Arkous From Bais Din Vaad Hadayonim were not just for any random individual in Lakewood they were primarily for Relitives
So that they can bypass the Bais Din System Take their Adverseries to Secular Court ,both Civil and Criminal and have them Arrested and Incarcerated if they so wish and not have to answer up to any other Botei Dinim or summon their Adverseries to a Fun Torah

Not a Double Mashgiach said...

So let's get this clear.
Limaysa when he writes an ikul on the lot of Arlington Shul, is it valid? Does Rabbi Kahan even have to sneeze about it? Or is it like the Kashrus organization that he's personally still on the board?

Anonymous said...

Well Rabbi Finkel is not alive
The Question is, Would an Ikkul from one of Finkels Vaad Hadayonim Secretaries/Dayanim
Efraim Birnbaum or Avrohom Gutman be of any Meaning or Signifigence

Answer : NO

Last I heard they have been trying to Get on to Bais Din Maysharim and Bais Havaad in Lakewood
However no one wants to go near these two, even with a Ten Foot poll

perhaps they should try another city outside of Lakewood where perhaps people are not aware of them

Anonymous said...

Why don't they try to get on to Bais Din Tzedek D'Laikvood ?

Anonymous said...

Badatz of Lakewood was the one that Exposed Finkel Birnbaum and Gutman and the Whole Vaad Hadayonim Crew for what they were

Anonymous said...

Badatz of Lakewood put Finkel and company out of Business

Anonymous said...

That's why the BMG family ganged up on the B'datz of Lakewood.

Anonymous said...

Also because they changed the way Lakewood was spelled which effectively makes a Chashash Psul on all Gitin

Anonymous said...

Which may also explain why they "exposed" them. This Bais Din realized they may have emese competition.
