Shatnez sold in a Brooklyn Jewish-owned store! ­ Dear Friend,   It's essential to exercise caution with your wool garments, including those purchased at Jewish-owned stores! Please ensure they're tested for shatnez at a certified shatnez laboratory. In the women's outfit shown above, the fabric is primarily wool, and the shoulders are reinforced with linen, as shown below. This DOLCE CABO brand item was purchased at a Jewish-owned store on Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn, New York. ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ What's particularly troubling about this shatnez finding is the following: There is no confirmation that the store has received any notification about the shatnez finding! Although this finding dates back over three months ago, only a total of two such garments have been tested at the local shatnez laboratory. Important note: Additional shatnez cases have recently been identified in woolen and wool-blend sweaters, specifically involving linen threads in the seams.
