Radio in the 50's & 60's TV in the 70's & 80's Video in the 90's & 00's Smartphone in 10's & 20's
The story is the same. The Shmoozeen are the same The fire 'drooshes' are the same Those who listened to the Gedoilim And Rebbehs in 50's are still listening today. Those who ignored the Gedoilim and Rebbehs then are still ignoring them today.
Whether its themselves, the kindeh, the ainiklach or the eer-ainiklach its the same toirah to ban it all. The same Musar shtiklach, the same shalisheedes toireh. All that changes is the technology, the year and the location.
Umm using technology to read isn't a biggie. I love being able to carry an electric device to read numerous newspapers or books while I'm waiting for a bus or riding on one. Frankly this would have been much more interesting if the photographer actually surveyed the contemporary men using electronic devices to see what they were reading.
