When I stayed in the Hilton Philly City Line I asked them to disable the battery pack inside the lock device. The head of maintainence was a goy who happened to have worked for Jewish hotels. You would think the guy was a Gemara kop the way he tried a half dozen arguments why the battery pack should not be chilul Shabbos. I had to have the front desk send someone to let me back in my room every time. I was worried the whole time that the hotel was just outside the Bala Cynwyd eruv and I would be hassled for not having keys or ID with me but boruch Hashem they didn't bother me.
